PUBG Mobile was a hugely popular mobile game in India when it was banned by the Indian government in September 2020. The player base of PUBG was huge as millions of Indians were hooked to the game when Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) banned the game due to some national security concerns.
Amidst the gloom created by the ban, the news of relaunch of PUBG Mobile India, which was announced in November 2020, spread like wildfire in the battle-royale community of India. Fans were excited with the announcement with a renewed sense of hope.
An official website was also made which was exclusively designed for PUBG Mobile India. The ‘Coming Soon’ message made the players even more excited. As days passed, fans received no updated news about the release date of PUBG Mobile India. This led to much speculation with many fans being misled into believing that the PUBG Mobile India launch was nigh.
Recently, according to PTI, Government has stated that the ban on TikTok and all other hundreds of banned Chinese apps or those with links to them, will continue to remain in force in the near future. The report clearly said that the banned Chinese apps including PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will not be available in India anytime soon.
Meanwhile, PUBG developers are bringing new updates frequently for the global audience and to gain more gamers on its gaming platform. PUBG Mobile 1.2 update went live less than a month ago, and now, the beta testing for the next iteration, i.e., 1.3, is already underway.
